About app tags in the Mobile Apps Library
-
Tags are created under an App in the Mobile Apps Library and are the pieces of code responsible for triggering a study in your app.
- The piece of code that you add to your app is unique and always corresponds to the same tag.
- Each Tag can be associated with one study/segment combination at a time.
- In the Mobile Apps Library, you can associate a tag to a different study according to your needs.
Add a tag to an app
- A single Tag with the Start Method “Start App” is created by default in every App.
- This Tag can't be deleted.
- Tags won't trigger a study unless you associate a study/segment with it and both the study and segment are live.
To add a tag to an app, follow these steps:
- Click your Username in the top right corner.
- Select Account Settings.
- In the menu on the left, under Account Features, select Mobile Apps Library.
- If you haven't already added an app to the Mobile Apps Library, follow these steps.
- After the app is added, click Add Tag at the top right.
- In the Add Tag window, enter the following information:

Associate a tag to a study and segment
- Each segment can be associated with only one Tag.
- If the drop-down to select a segment says "No segment available", create a new segment in your study or unassign the segment from another app tag.
- For At a specific section of the app tags to work:
- The Start App tag needs to be associated with a study but doesn't necessarily need a segment assigned.
- This does absolutely nothing (since no segment is associated) and is just for technical reasons.
To associate a tag to a study and segment, follow these steps:
- Click your Username in the top right corner.
