Add None of the Above or N/A as an answer

Use these steps to add None of the Above or N/A as an answer.

  • Adding None of the Above or N/A gives participants an option when other answers don't fit.
  • Use this option when you're not looking for other, more specific answers than what you've defined.
  • Depending on the question type, the answer is placed:
    • Under the other answers.
    • As column on the far right.
  • None of the Above or N/A is available for these question types:
    • Choice - Multiple answers
    • Matrix (One Answer per Row)
    • Rating Scale - One Answer (Horizontal)
  • In the Results section of Matrix (One Answer per Row) questions, N/A responses only appear in the data table and not in the graph.

 

To add None of the Above or N/A as an answer, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Choose the task/questionnaire.
  3. Hover over the question you want to edit to reveal your options.
  4. Click Edit  edit_question_icon.jpg.
  5. Locations vary by question type:
    • Choice - Multiple answers:
      1. Scroll to the bottom of the overlay window.
      2. Check Include “None of the above”.
    • Matrix (One Answer per Row)questions:
      1. Scroll to the bottom of the overlay window.
      2. Check the Include N/A Column box under Columns Choices. 
    • Rating Scale - One Answer (Horizontal) questions: Check the Include N/A Column box under Columns Choices. 
  6. Enter the label for this field (For example, None of the Above or N/A).
  7. Click Save.
