Create and manage tasks

Use these steps to create and manage tasks.

Add a new task

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Click +New Task new_task_button.jpg.
  3. Choose type of the task like to add.
    • Task types vary by study type.
    • If you don't see the task type you want to add, scroll down to find more options (macOS).
  4. Under Options, select Create a new task.
  5. Choose where to place the task:
    • Right after the last: After all existing tasks.
    • The first: Before all existing tasks.
    • After: Pick a task from the drop-down for this task to appear after.
  6. Click Save.

 

 

Copy an existing task

Use this function to copy a task from another study.

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Click +New Task new_task_button.jpg.
  3. In the What type of task would you like to add drop-down, select the task type.
    • Task types vary by study type.
    • If you don't see the task type you want to add, scroll down to find more options (macOS).
  4. Under Options, select where to copy from:
    • Copy an existing task from the present study
    • Copy an existing task from another study
  5. Choose where to place the task:
    • Right after the last: After all existing tasks.
    • The first: Before all existing tasks.
    • After: Pick a task from the drop-down for this task to appear after.
  6. Click Save.

 

 

Duplicate a task

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Hover over the task to duplicate in the left menu.
  3. Click the three dots three_dots.jpg that appear.
  4. In the options that appear, click on Duplicate.
  5. Click Save. The task is added below the original task.

 

 

Rename a task

This option is not available for Basic Usability Tests.

 

From the side menu

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Hover over the task to rename in the left menu.
  3. Click the three dots three_dots.jpg that appear.
  4. In the options that appear, click Rename.
  5. Fill in the Insert/Edit task title field.
  6. Click Save.

 

In the task - Questions Only tasks

  1. Click the task name.
  2. Enter the title.
  3. Click Save.

 

In the task - All other task types

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. In the left menu, click the task to rename.
  3. Under the Task Description section, enter the new name in the Task Title (optional) field.
  4. Click Save.

 

 

Reorder a task

Logic and conditions are cleared to avoid looping or conflicts when tasks are reordered. You will have to reset logic and conditions after reordering.

 

Option 1

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Click Task Options task_options.jpg at the top left.
  3. In the Task Options window, click Reorder & Delete.
  4. Drag and drop the task to the desired position.
  5. Click Save.

 

Option 2

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Hover over the task. 
  3. Click the three dots three_dots.jpg that appear next to the task.
  4. In the drop-down, click Move.
  5. In the Task Options window, click Reorder & Delete.
  6. Drag and drop the task to the desired position.
  7. Click Save.

 

 

Delete a task

Option 1

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Click Task Options task_options.jpg.
  3. In the Task Options window, click Reorder & Delete.
  4. Click the Trash can icon next to the task you want to delete.
  5. Confirm the action by clicking Delete.
  6. Click Save.

 

Option 2

  1. Go to the Study Builder section of your study.
  2. Hover over the task. 
  3. Click the three dots three_dots.jpg that appear next to the task.
  4. In the drop-down, click Delete.
  5. Confirm the action by clicking Delete.
