Taskbar button redirects in Navigation tasks (Advanced UX Research)

Learn about redirecting participants based on the Taskbar button they click in Navigation tasks.

Taskbar types

  • In the Taskbar description, set up the flow participants experience based on the button they click to complete the Navigation task.
  • There are two Taskbar types:
    • 1 Button:
      • The Taskbar only has one button: OK.
      • When no validation criteria are applied, participants are considered success for the Navigation task when they click OK.
    • 2 Button:
      • The Taskbar has two buttons: Success and Abandon.
      • When no validation criteria are applied:
        • Participants who click Success are considered success.
        • Participants who click Abandon are considered abandon.

 

 

Validation types

  • Depending on validation applied to the task, participants are redirected to different questionnaires.
  • If no specific questions have to be asked depending on the button clicked, they can be sent directly to the Final Questionnaire of the task or any other questionnaire in the study.

 

No Validation

  • 1 Button Taskbar: OK: Redirect successful participants to the Success Questionnaire.
  • 2 Button Taskbar:
    • Success: Redirect successful participants to the Success Questionnaire.
    • Abandon: Redirect participants to the Abandon Questionnaire.

 

Validation by Question

Configure the Validation tab to Validate participants based on answers given.

  • 1 Button Taskbar: OK:
    • Redirect participants to the Validation Questionnaire.
    • Participants are sent to the Success Questionnaire or the Error Questionnaire based on the validation question answer.
  • 2 Button Taskbar:
    • Success: 
      • Redirect participants to the Validation Questionnaire.
      • Participants are sent to the Success Questionnaire or the Error Questionnaire based on the validation question answer.
    • Abandon: Redirect participants to the Abandon Questionnaire.

 

Validation by URL

Configure the Validation tab to Validate participants based on URLs reached.

  • 1 Button Taskbar: OK:
    • Configured in the Validation tab.
    • Redirect participants to the Validation Questionnaire.
    • Participants are sent to the Success Questionnaire or the Error Questionnaire based on the URLs reached.
  • 2 Button Taskbar:
    • Success: 
      • When participants reach the correct URL, they are redirected to the Success Questionnaire.
      • If participants have not reached the correct URL, redirect them to the Error Questionnaire
    • Abandon: 
      • Redirect participants to the Abandon Questionnaire.
      • Validation by URL takes precedent and overwrites standard configuration.
