About URL assets

  • Adding a URL asset to your test plan can help you get feedback on any digital property participants can access via direct link.
  • The link from the hosting service should be publicly accessible to your participants.
  • It can be hosted on platforms such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Sharepoint, Wistia, Vimeo, or YouTube.

Set up the URL asset

  1. Open your Test plan.
  2. Select the URL option under Assets to add it to your Test plan.
  3. Copy and paste your publically accessible URL in the URL space provided.

Note: If the URL content is the first thing you want participants to see, add the URL directly to the Starting URL section. If your URL goes to a video you want feedback on, we recommend starting with a task and then taking participants to the URL asset.
  4. Click Preview test plan when you're done.
  5. We also recommend piloting your test to ensure participants outside your organization can access the URL.
Note: You might notice that the video plays but only a black box is recorded on the video. If this happens, check with your project team to ensure that your system does not have any restrictions in place that prevent the recording of videos on that system.
