Native video and audio testing

The UserTesting platform allows you to store assets natively, without needing an external resource. These assets include URLs, images, as well as audio and video files.

About video and audio testing

Native video and audio testing are available on the following subscriptions:

Flex plan Seat-based plan
Essentials Startup
Advanced Professional
Ultimate Premium
  • When building your test, you can add video and audio assets for participants to access and provide feedback.
  • Only MP4 files are supported at this time.
  • The maximum file size is 500MB.
  • Avoid using the following characters when naming your video file: ?, ", \, &, #
  • It is not possible to add native video and audio testing to a launched test.

 

 

How it works

  1. In the Test plan builder, click or drag the video or audio asset into your test plan.

  2. Click browse files or drag and drop your file into the asset.
  3. Select your file and upload it.
  4. Once the video or audio file is uploaded, it will appear as a task within the test plan with instructional text for the participant. If needed, the instructional text can be edited.

Here is an example of how a participant will see your asset. They will be shown a message that gives directions before the actual test begins:
