About Word Clouds in Open Ended Questions

  • Word Clouds allows you to have an overview of participant answers to open ended questions.
  • They show the words with the most frequency among participant answers.
  • The more frequently a word came up, the bigger it is displayed.
  • The Word Cloud feature is available for:
    • Open Ended – Comments Box Questions
    • Open Ended – One or More Lines Questions
  • The question types above contribute to the Word Cloud as long as there is only one input line.
  • Text and Word Clouds are not available for the following languages:
    • Arabic
    • Chinese (Simplified)
    • Chinese (Traditional)
    • Japanese
    • Thai

 

 

Find a Word Cloud

  1. Go to the Results section of our study.
  2. Select Ratios & Responses ratios_and_responses_button.jpg in the left menu.
  3. Scroll to the open ended question.
  4. View the Word Cloud below the question.

 

 

Export a Word Cloud

  1. Go to the Results section of our study.
  2. Select Ratios & Responses ratios_and_responses_button.jpg in the left menu.
  3. Scroll to the open ended question.
  4. Click Export export_dendrogram.jpg
  5. Select the file type to begin the download: 
    export_dendrogram_file_format_options.jpg

 

 

Filter responses based on a specific word

  1. Click a word in the Word Cloud to filter answers,
    • A second Word Cloud is generated.
    • The new Word Cloud includes the most used words along with the initially selected word.
  2. To remove the filter, click the word again.
