Editing a test after launch

You can select Pause from any page of your test.

Once the test is paused, you can make the following edits:

  • Edit questions
  • Edit question configurations (e.g., None of the above, Written response limits)
  • Delete questions
  • Add new questions

Considerations when editing a live test

  • Editing a test with existing results may affect your data.
If your test has already collected responses, any changes you make, especially removing or rewording questions, can disrupt data consistency.
  • Export your results before making changes.
If you're changing or removing questions, we recommend exporting your current results from the Results page before resuming the test.
  • Removing a question will delete its results.
If you delete a question from a paused test, all existing responses for that question will be permanently removed.
  • You won’t be able to change:
    • Test settings
    • Country demographics
    • Figma task:
      • Prototype link
      • Success paths

Edit test settings

  • Test settings cannot be changed after launch.
  • Settings include:
    • Device
    • Test type
  • If you need to update settings like audience or study type, you'll need to duplicate the test.

Follow these steps to update settings:

  1. From the Dashboard, select Tests.
  2. Click the Options menu (...)
  3. Choose Duplicate.
  4. Edit the test Settings as needed before launching.

Editing an audience after launch

You can select Pause from any page of your test.

Now you can:

  • Edit or add screeners
  • Edit all demographics (except the country)
    • If the country needs to be edited, create a new audience with the new country and decrease the number of participants in the original audience.
    • If 10 participants have completed the test, the number can’t be lower than 10.
  • Add another audience
  • Remove the audience if no participants have taken the survey.
  • Edit Confidentiality terms
