About Don't pay contributors

• Unlike the UserTesting Contributor Network where UserTesting automatically pays all contributors after completing tests, the Don't pay contributors feature allows you to decide whether or not you want UserTesting to compensate your Custom Network.
• You cannot edit this option once the network has been created without removing all of the contributors from the network.
• You can turn off payments and choose not to collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII). If, in that case, you also want to compensate contributors via your own method, you may want to ask contributors at the end of the test to share their email.
• When testing with your Custom Network, there may be some cases where contributors will not be compensated. These include:
  • Testing with your employees
  • Testing with an organization that cannot accept payments (e.g., charities and nonprofits)
  • Offering alternative compensation such as vouchers

How Don't pay contributors works

1. Decide how you are going to compensate your Custom Network.
2. When creating a Custom Network, select the Don't pay contributors checkbox if you don't want UserTesting to compensate your contributors. Leave the checkbox alone if you would like UserTesting to compensate your contributors.
   
3. UserTesting compensates contributors via PayPal usually 14 days after a test is completed.
