-
UserTesting Network: You’ll be directed to choose how many participants are needed and to toggle on demographic filters to apply.
Optional steps
- Select your target criteria with demographic filters.
- Add screener questions to recruit a particular audience.
- You can have multiple audiences in a test, including both UserTesting Network and your own participants, with the Invite via link option.
Why your test may fill with extra sessions
When multiple participants enter your test at the same time — before your participant count is reached — everyone who has already entered is allowed to finish. This means your test may receive a few extra sessions and complete with slightly more responses than you requested (for example, 82 of 80).
- All additional sessions are included in your results.
- Each additional session uses session units.
You can see your final count on the Monitor page (for example, Completed: 82/80). The info icon next to Number of participants on the Audience page is a reminder that this can happen.
Confidentiality terms
- Participant data needs to be protected, with region-specific laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) now commonplace.
- These laws mean it’s mandatory to ask participants for their explicit consent if you’re collecting any personal information (for example, their name or email).
- A default template with generic data privacy text is included. You can edit or delete this text and add secure URLs linking to your own terms. Links open in a new tab for participants.
