Why am I unable to use the plugin on my file?

To use plugins in Figma, a Full seat on a Figma plan is required. Verify that you have permission in your Figma instance to use the plugin.

When I load up the plugin, I don't see a way to create a test.

The ability to use UserTesting for Figma is based on your current Figma and UserTesting permissions. A Creator license in UserTesting is required to create a test. If you’re unable to proceed, please contact your admin to confirm your license access.

The plugin says I don't have access to AI features. How can I use it?

The UserTesting for Figma plugin uses generative AI to streamline your workflow, including automatically generating tests and accelerating time-to-insight with AI-generated themes and summaries. If you’re seeing this screen, it means your account has opted out of Generative AI features required for the plugin to function.

How do I set up my Figma prototype to run a test with the plugin?

  1. Before you launch a test, make sure your prototype file is set to Anyone with the link can view so participants can access it.
  2. Turn off hotspot hinting in the file settings to avoid unintentionally guiding users and biasing results.
  3. Make sure your prototype is set up as a flow. The UserTesting for Figma plugin relies on defined flows to generate and launch the test.
