About custom confidentiality terms feature
- All individuals on UserTesting Contributor Networks sign terms of service agreements to keep our customer's information confidential.
- In certain cases, you may need to inform participants of additional expectations regarding your sensitive information.
- Custom confidentiality terms can serve as NDAs for participants in the UserTesting Contributor Network and your Custom Networks for both Live Conversation and unmoderated tests, as long as they do not conflict with existing confidentiality agreements between UserTesting and the contributor.
Use the UserTesting custom confidentiality terms feature to do the following:
- Remind individuals of important obligations when they are reviewing sensitive assets such as early concepts, designs, and prototypes
- Prevent individuals from proceeding with the test if they have not reviewed your terms
- Simplify the document-management process by viewing and downloading the reviewed terms
How to enable confidentiality agreements
- In the audience builder, toggle on the Confidentiality terms feature.
- When the toggle is turned on, an area to upload confidentiality terms appears.
Note: Only PDF-formatted files are supported.
- Drag and drop the file into the audience builder and rename the file if necessary.
💡Note: You can upload a PDF of any terms once and use it with multiple audiences. This feature also supports uploading multiple documents for the contributors to review.
- Review the uploaded files from the summary screen to ensure you have added the correct documents.
- You are now ready to move on to the Test plan builder or to launch your test.
- When a contributor completes the test, you'll see the standard information we provide about them (e.g., the individual’s username) along with the date and timestamp for when the agreement was acknowledged.
💡Note: Additional PII, such as the individual’s actual name and address, will not be provided as part of this process.
Tip: If you plan to use the same custom confidentiality terms for multiple tests, create a saved audience that includes the terms for easy re-use.
Contributor experience with confidentiality terms
- Contributors can identify that the test will require confidentiality terms via an icon that appears within the test invitation on their dashboard.
- A contributor must acknowledge that they have reviewed the confidentiality terms and will comply before proceeding with your test.
- Once confirmed, contributors can download the document for reference.
💡Note: If a contributor declines the terms, they will not be able to proceed.
