On the Summary tab, you can create an overview of a test’s results and share it with colleagues. Enter the information you want—for example, the name of your team and the test’s objective—then send others a link. Notes and clips marked important, along with tags are imported from the video player for you, accelerating time to insights for your whole team.
To get started, open a test from the Dashboard and select the Summary tab.
Sharing the Insights Summary
You can easily share the information located under the Summary tab. There are two options for sharing:
Download a PDF
One option is to download the PDF to your computer. Note that links to videos within the PDF will follow the default sharing rules in your account. To give non-account stakeholders access to these links without them having to log in, make sure that (under Settings > General) the "Require account membership to view videos" setting is switched off and that the "Share default settings" is set to Anyone with the link.
Share with a link
The other option is to select Share Summary.
This gives you the option to either share an editable link with people who are in your workspace or share a link to any account member.
Editing the Insights Summary
To edit the summary, switch Edit Mode toggle to on.
From here, you can edit summary content. You can also hide sections that you do not want to include on the Summary page for this test.
If you collapse a section, it is hidden when Edit Mode is switched off.
💡Tip If you don’t enter anything in a field, collapse the section. That way, it won’t be visible when you turn off Edit Mode.
Summary tab sections
You'll see five fields at the top of the Summary tab. Whether you wish to enter any information in the first five fields on the tab is up to you:
- Team: your teammates or your team’s name
- Objective: the test’s goal–what you’re trying to find out
- Context: information that provides context for the test (e.g., reasons for or circumstances justifying the test)
- Findings: observations–what the test revealed
- Next Steps: actions to take based on what the test shows
Contributors
The Contributors section shows how many people took your test, as well as the filters you used to define your audience. Enter any additional information you want in the Comments field.
To hide a filter, hover over it while in edit mode.
To show a filter again after it has been hidden, return to edit mode and select Show.
Tags
Tags you add to notes and clips in the video player appear in the Tags section. Read more about adding tags with the video player.
To hide a tag, hover over the tag and click on it.
Add any text you want in the Comments field.
Positive, Negative, and Neutral feedback
Notes and clips marked as important in the video player appear in the Feedback section.
- Positive Feedback displays notes and clips tagged with positive sentiment.
- Negative Feedback displays notes and clips tagged with negative sentiment.
- Neutral Feedback displays notes and clips not tagged with any sentiment.
Add any text you want in the Comments field.
ⓘ Note: Only notes and clips manually tagged with sentiment are imported, not those automatically identified by sentiment analysis in the video player.
To mark notes and clips as "important"—so that they will display in the Summary tab—and optionally tag them with a sentiment, do the following:
- When viewing a session, go to the Notes & Clips section within the video player.
- Click the star icon on each note or clip to mark it as important.
Click the Positive or Negative face icon on each note or clip. Doing so tags the clip with a sentiment.
Read more about sentiment tagging and marking notes and clips as important.
When in the Summary tab, you can hide individual notes or clips. You can also hide the entire notes section or the entire clips section. You need to have switched on Edit mode to access these functions.
Hover over Clips or Notes and a Hide button will appear. Click on it to hide notes or clips.
Hover over it again and a Show button will appear. Click on it to show those notes or clips again.
