About the licensed users in UserTesting plans

There are many different types of UserTesting accounts and license types. The features a user can access depend on the license that the user has been assigned. The two most common types of account and license types are listed below:

One common account type includes Unlimited, Standard, and Collaborator licenses:

  • Unlimited: Users on the account who have the broadest ability to run an unlimited number of tests via the platform.
  • Standard: Users on the account who have the ability to run a limited number of tests via the platform.
  • Collaborator: These users cannot run tests in the platform, but can review drafts and the results of tests that other users have run.

Another common account type includes Creator, Viewer, and Account Admin licenses:

  • Creator: Users on the account who have the ability to create and launch tests, and view test session results.
  • Viewer: Designed for people who need to view tests and share insights from them, but who don’t create tests. Someone with a Viewer license can review test plans and create clips and highlight reels, but cannot create or launch tests.

Account Admin: An account owner with admin privileges who is either a Creator or Viewer. Admins are able to set permissions for users across the features they have access to in their accounts. Licenses are allocated by the UserTesting Admin, a user who’s designated by the customer. The UserTesting Admin has access to an online dashboard that can be used to add and remove users and assign licences within the company’s UserTesting account. The UserTesting Admin role can be assigned to a user who has any type of license. Only Admins can remove users.
