Creating a UserTesting Account

At a Glance

There are different types of UserTesting subscriptions, and the features a user can access depend on the license that the user has been assigned. Below is a quick summary of how to create an account and choose from the different subscription plans and licenses on the UserTesting Platform.

Creating Your Account

If you are interested in setting up an account with UserTesting, you can request a trial to start the process.

If your team already has a subscription to UserTesting and you want access to the Platform, contact the administrator on the account to be added and assigned a seat.

Your Subscription Options

Flex Plan

If you manage Session Units, your account is on the Flex plan. There are three different subscription types:

  • Essentials
  • Advanced
  • Ultimate

For a list of features available on each subscription, visit this summary page. For each subscription, you have the following licenses/roles:

  • Creator
  • Viewer
  • Account Admin

Read more about the abilities of each role in our article, "Guidance for Admins on the Flex Plan."

Seat-Based Plan

Your account is on the seat-based plan if your user types are Unlimited, Standard, Light, and Collaborator. There are three different subscription types:

  • Startup
  • Professional
  • Premium

For a list of features available on each subscription, visit this summary page. For each subscription type, you have the following licenses/roles:

  • Unlimited
  • Standard and Light
  • Collaborator
  • Admin

Note: Licenses have to be purchased on the subscription in order for them to be assigned to team members. Not all subscriptions have every subscription-seat license.

For more information about these seat roles and licenses, read our article, "Guidance for Admins on the Seat-Based Plan."

If you have questions about your plan, contact Support or talk to your Customer Success Manager.
