How Does UserTesting Capture a Contributor's Activity?

At a Glance

The UserTesting seamless recorder enables contributors to start giving feedback with the click of a button. The seamless recorder is available for UserTesting Contributor Network and Custom Network desktop tests on Edge, Safari, and Firefox, and for Invite Network desktop tests on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

The test from the contributor's point of view.

With the UserTesting seamless desktop recorder, contributors, after enabling permissions, can start giving feedback right away. Once a contributor qualifies to take a test, and after progressing through a set of onboarding screens and a mic check, they will be dropped into the test experience.

    • For UserTesting Contributor Network and Custom Network desktop tests, the seamless recorder is compatible with Edge, Firefox, and Safari (current version only).
    • For Invite Network desktop tests, the seamless recorder is compatible with Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari (currently version only).

No download is required for contributors to take the desktop test. The test will utilize a tab structure allowing contributors one tab for the tasks and another tab for the testing asset. Testing prompts will never block testing assets.
