Start testing your mobile sites today with these instructions.
Step 1. Log in
Log into your dashboard.
Step 2. Create a new study
Select the New dropdown from your dashboard, then select Create an unmoderated test to create a new study.
Step 3. Select study type
Select Website
Next, choose your audience. In this example, we'll be using Panels.
When you arrive on the overview page, you have the option to start building your audience or to get started creating your test plan.
For the purpose of this knowledgebase article, we will start with selecting your audience.
Step 4. Select Audience
Once you click on Select Audience, you will be directed to a page dedicated to choosing your target audience. Choose a saved audience, or create from scratch.
For a mobile website study, select Tablet or Smartphone for Which type of device should the participants use?
To further refine your audience, select the filter(s) that you need by checking the box(es) in the right sidebar and then adjusting each filter as needed.
You can select the desired operating system (iOS or Android) under Demographic Filters.
Note: If you do not choose an operating system, the test will be distributed to anyone who meets the other set criteria. If you would like an even split of iOS/Android users, create a separate audience for each operating system.
Scrolling down, you can also add screener questions by dragging the Screener Question element in from the right sidebar. Screeners help you pinpoint down to the precise audiences you are seeking.
When you are happy with your filters and screeners, you can click the Done button to return to the overview page.
Step 5. Build your Test Plan
Once you have returned to the overview page, select Build Test Plan to get started on test creation. Provide a starting URL as well as any scenario-related details to set the stage for your test participant.
If desired, you can require participants to start from a native browser on their device. Note that selecting this option will change the recording method in such a way that finger taps, participant view, and Enhanced Metrics will no longer be captured.
Then, select the elements that you want to include by dragging them into your test plan from the right sidebar.
Once you are done creating your test plan, you can click the Done button to return to the overview page.
Step 6. Review and launch your test
The overview page should now display your audience targeting as well as the test plan. Review the information and remember to give your test a name. When you are satisfied, click the Launch Test button.
