Email notification preferences

Overview

There are two types of email notifications you can manage:

  • Team members can control how frequently they’ll receive emails from UserTesting about completed tests.
  • Account Admins on usage-based pricing editions can receive email notifications when sizable tests are launched or we are seeing high activity from team members or both.

Test Completion Emails

Edit the UserTesting email notifications you receive for completed tests by following these steps:

Step 1. Log into your dashboard.

Step 2. Select the account menu next to your initials at the top-right corner of your dashboard, then select Settings.

Account Activity Notifications

Note: Account activity notifications are only available to Account Admins on usage-based pricing editions. If you are not an Account Admin and your account does not have usage-based pricing, you will not see this option.

How Account Activity Notifications Work

To help keep track of account activities, Account Admins can opt-in to receive email notifications.

There are two types of activity notifications that admins can set:

  1. Team members' monthly amount: You may receive this notification when we notice high activity from a team member in a month and they have gone over the monthly amount of Session Units set. Note: This amount applies equally to all team members in a calendar month. The default amount can be reset or changed at any time.
  2. Single test amount: You may receive this notification when we see a large test launched and it has gone over the amount of Sessions Units set per single test. The default amount can be reset or changed at any point in time.

Only accounts which have opted in to receiving emails will be notified of these activity updates. These notifications are automatically received by the Account Admins only and other team members on the account—Creators and Viewers—will not receive these notifications. Opting in to set Session Unit amounts and receive activity notifications does not prevent team members from launching tests or going over these amounts.

Account Admins can change settings at any time.

Team members notification: The default is set to 250 Session Units per member, per calendar month. This setting applies to all members of the account. This amount cannot be adjusted for individual team members.

Test notification: The default is set to 100 Session Units. This setting applies to all tests launched on the account.

Email notifications are sent after a team member or single test goes over the set Session Unit amount. For example, if the single test amount is set to 100 Session Units, and a team member launches a test that will use 101 Session Units or more, the Account Admins will receive a notification email.

If you have questions about account activity notifications, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
