Desktop Screen Recorder Updates (August 2016):

Verbal Responses:

  • We noticed in the past some of our users would start to answer verbal questions and it would appear that they were being asked the question twice. They’d see the verbal question in the large task bar and again when they hit next. Test participants will now be instructed to click “Start” when they’re ready to proceed to the verbal response.
  • After hitting “Start,” they’ll see the question you’d like them to answer.

Metric Questions:

  • In the past, when responding to multiple choice, rating scale, and written questions, users weren’t able to hide or dismiss our Screen Recorder. They’d have to move the window around their screen to see the website or app behind it.

We’ve added a button that allows users to click “Hide” and will minimize it into our regular Screen Recorder bar.

  • When the test participant is ready to answer the question, they just have to tap “Click to show” to navigate back to the question.

The new version of the UserTesting Screen Recorder will be rolling out to you soon. If you have any other questions please reach out to us at
