Test your apps on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Use the following instructions to post a mobile app test with UserTesting.
Note: Only admin level members can launch and order tests.
Step 1. Log in
Log into your customer dashboard.
Step 2. Create a Test
Click Create A New Test.
Step 3. Website or App Test
Select whether you will be testing a website or an app. In this case, we'll select Test an App.
Step 4. Select a Platform
You have the choice to test an app on iOS or Android.
Note: You cannot launch both an iOS and Android App test within the same study. If you need to test the same app on an iOS and Android device just create a similar test and select a different platform.
Step 5. Provide Starting Instructions
Provide the app name or link for participants to install your app onto their devices.
If you're getting feedback on an iOS application, upload your build just like you would to TestFlight.
If you're getting feedback on an Android application, link the tester to your .apk.
Step 6. Choose Your Target Audience
Indicate the number of participants you'd like for the study.
Screeners are multiple choice questions that participants must answer correctly before they're able to accept your test. This is an optional feature you can choose if the demographic fields above do not cover your needed requirement. Read more about screeners here.
Step 7. Provide Starting Instructions and Select Tasks
You'll also want to provide a scenario so users know what mindset to have during the study.
Place the questions and tasks you'd like participants to complete during your test. You can also refer to our bank of popular tasks if you're unsure of what tasks and questions to use.
Step 8. Written Questions
After participants finish recording their session, they'll see a pop up questionnaire with 1 - 4 questions requiring a written response. You can use the pre-populated questions that are included in every test or write your own.
Step 9. Review and Launch Test
Review your test details before launching you test!
